- 01Save in game
Check that Current Progress is available.
- 02Keep a backup
Create a recovery copy inside the app.
- 03Export a copy
Choose a separate destination for the .sav file.
Three ways to keep progress
- Game Save
- The game’s own saved data, shown as Current Progress. This is the progress imported and exported as a compatible .sav file.
- Backups
- Copies of Game Save data. Automatic, manual, and safety backups live in the app’s local storage.
- Snapshots & Timeline
- Captured emulator states that can return to an exact moment. They may also contain older Game Save data. They are not interchangeable with .sav imports.
Create a local recovery point
- Save using the game’s own save command
Then open the game page and choose Manage under Saves & History. This opens the Saves page. Check that Current Progress is available.
- Open Backups
Tap the row showing the number of backups, then choose Backup Now to make a manual copy of existing progress.
- Review automatic backup settings
In Settings → Saves & Timeline, enable Auto Backup and choose Automatic Backups to Keep. The app creates automatic backups on its normal exit flow when a current save exists; unchanged data can be skipped.
Older automatic backups rotate according to the limit. Manual backups and safety backups are separate from that automatic rotation.
Export outside app storage
- Choose Game → Saves → Export Save
Select a destination and filename in Android’s document picker. You can also export an individual backup from Backups.
- Check the result
Look for Save exported, then verify that the destination contains a non-empty .sav file. Keep the game name and version with your copy so you can match it later.
Export the saves you want to keep and check the copies. App-private backups, snapshots, and Timeline history are local. They do not provide recovery after that storage has been removed.
Import or restore the matching save
- Open the matching game’s Saves page
Choose Import Save and select a compatible .sav. Review the confirmation before replacing current progress. The app attempts a safety backup of any existing current save first.
- Restart normally after import
Choose Restart Now, or choose Later and use Start Game next time. Avoid manually loading an older snapshot over the imported save.
- For a local backup, choose Restore
Open Backups, select the intended copy, and confirm Restore. The app verifies that backup’s integrity and schedules a normal boot after successful restoration.
An accepted file is not proof of compatible progress. Game version, region, and patch differences can matter. For errors or unexpected progress, use Save file problems.
